Limbo

LimboI have been having a hard time grasping what it will be like to go home.  I have spent much of my career on the road and have tried to make my home wherever I’ve been.   Fresh flowers, pictures, familiar knick-knacks that remind me of days gone by.  My mom’s silver rosary she clutched in her hand into her later years.  The Hail Mary’s and Our Father’s and Glory Be’s that were so ingrained in me as I was growing up a practicing Catholic.  The fold out of St Jude to protect from harm’s way.  My Buddha that helps me to remember the inner calm. IMG_1656That’s a strange word for me especially now.  I have always been very independent out of sheer necessity.  Even as a child I didn’t have much of a choice.  My mom was busy trying to make it as a single mother in the sixties which wasn’t all that common so I was pretty much left to figure it out. Diversity

DiversityOne definition for diversity?  The state of being diverse; variety.  News was just released about how the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is trying to be more diverse in their membership and nominations of the awards.  Being a member of the academy I have gone to the screenings at the theater numerous times.  Although it is a small percentage of the membership I have to say what I have seen is not very diverse.
