Phobias can be a tricky thing. Don’t know how or where I got them from but I have two that really seem to sometimes dictate my life. I am the victim of claustrophobia and acrophobia. Doesn’t seem to be a problem until I get into large crowds or I’m on top of a very high building. It is hard to describe the feeling when the phobia takes hold of you. Your mind tells you to relax and focus on your breath. But your body tells you that you are trapped or you need to jump to dispel the fear. Continue reading

Communication
This is definitely a loaded subject. There are so many ways this can go about so many things. Communicating with love ones, business associates, job interviews, friends; the list goes on and on. And each circumstance seems to require different skills. The suggestion to “speak from your heart” doesn’t always appear to be the best choice.
I know there are some circumstances that push my buttons and make me feel defensive and angry and then I close down to any clear communication. And there are close relationships that allow me to push the envelope when I know I shouldn’t. Or it’s become such a pattern that I’m not even aware of it anymore. Continue reading

I recently came across this quote which, I think, sums up how I should live the rest of my life. I’ve been around for sixty years and sometimes I wonder if I am going to get to a point where I think I won’t be able to do everything I want to do.
